Description of the organization and its target audience
This is an internal associate app for The Connor Group. We are a real estate investment firm with associates all across the US who operate apartment communities. We are using this to "Keep everyone in the loop" company-wide. The average age of our associates is mid to late 20's - 40s. We want our logo to be something modern, fun - and something associates can connect with. We would also like to see some designs with a graphic element to them that can stand alone as the App Icon, or can be utilized in various ways within the app.

Although we are a real estate investment firm - using images of homes/apartments in our logo is not the direction we'd like to go. No animals and characters.
We are NOT looking for something that looks "Corporate".
Using the text in a unique way, I'd like to see a wide variety of fonts to try out. Or something that utilizes the lettering the in app's name.

If you use fonts that require a license, confirm with the client they're ok with it. For licensing reasons, it is better to provide your client with information on how to acquire the font rather than providing the actual files.
Text in logos should be converted to outlines.
