We are in need of a website design (template only, no code) for the recently opened Palmetto Health Simulation Center.
The name of the website will be Palmetto Health Simulation Center, and the URL will be http://www.phsim.com or http://www.phsimcenter.com.
To get an idea about what a Simulation Center is, you can visit the following websites. These are sites for existing Sim Centers at other hospitals or universities.
http://harvardmedsim.org/cms/index.html
http://www.wiser.pitt.edu/
http://cape.lpch.org/
The above websites should give you a general idea of the content that we will be putting in our new website, and also maybe a general idea for how the layout for our site should look.
We would like to see both a home page design and a content page design.
We want the site to have a clean, professional feel. It needs to be very easy to navigate and to find information.
On the content page design, please add in some common design elements (such as buttons, lists, tables with header, sub header, and regular cells, etc.).
You can use some stock-photography for the design if you feel it is appropriate. We plan to take some good photos of the actual Simulation Center to use in the design, but for now you can just fill in with stock photos.
During a design meeting that we had with the client, we came up with a few guidelines for the basic layout of the site. Please keep these in mind when creating your design.
1. For the header of the site, we want to have the logo near or at the top. Logo can be found here: http://www.emergencyresident.com/ph…r/logo.jpg
1b. I realize this logo is pretty plain and boring. If you want, feel free to include a modified logo in your design. Maybe the client will like it and we won't be stuck with the other logo. :)
2. We want a horizontal menu near the top of the design that will serve as the main navigation for the site. This will be a drop-down menu. Top level items should include: Home, About Us, Course Information, Calendar, Contact Us, Our Facility, Equipment.
3. We will want to put a search box somewhere in the design.
4. On the homepage of the site, we plan to include some type of Flash-based image rotator that will show some of the photos that we take of the sim center. For now, you can just put a static stock-photo into your design in the place that you think the flash should fit.
5. In the body content of the homepage, we want to have some basic Mission/Vision statement text, Latest News section, Upcoming Events, etc.
6. We would like to have a couple of main buttons on the side that will link to main features of the site (i.e. "Start Building Your Simulation Activity" and "Access the Simulation Center").
7. Also in the body content (maybe at the bottom), we want to have a couple of main navigation links for "Learn More About Medical Simulation" and "How Do I Build Curriculum". These will be links to slideshow presentations.
The Content Page will be very similar to the Home Page. It probably will not have the main Flash-based image banner, but maybe a smaller stock photo instead or something like that. It might also have a side menu for links to related pages on the site.
Legal Requirements: All submissions must be 100% your own original work. The winning submission includes transfer of ownership for work submittals and all design materials. We check submitted material for copyright violations. The design can be used in your portfolio. We reserve the right to end the contest without a winner if no winning entry can be decided upon.
Thanks in advance for your work on this contest. We’re looking forward to seeing all the entries!
Desired Color Scheme: The logo for Sim Center includes a blue/green graphic for Palmetto Health and also a reddish colored graphic for the University of South Carolina. We would prefer the color of the website to somehow tie in with 1 or both of those graphics, but please make sure it still looks clean and professional. We are probably partial to using a shade of blue as the main color. Also, please use a white or light colored background for the site.
