Designers from around the world are submitting creative designs for chuckylefrek in coded website design - custom.
I need a redesign of an existing site. http://www.humphriesandjones.com/index2.htm
The text content is the same as the existing site however there are now a lot of images that you can choose from for use in the design.
Quote from the client
"I would like the new design to be professional and elegant but without being too stiff and corporate looking. Perhaps with a little artistic flair. A site that people will want to play and look through"
Humphries & Jones
Tagline:
Conservation and repair of sculpture, historic buildings, monuments and architectural works of art
Desired Color Scheme:
Traditional soft earth colours
Desired Style:
Open to suggestions
Accepted File Formats:
CSS, HTML, JPG, GIF, PSD
As can be seen on the existing site (http://www.humphriesandjones.com/index2.htm), here are the pages:
Home
About
Services
Publications
Portfolio
Contact
Please note the portfolio page is a dynamic page but I will deal with the backend coding of this.
I would like a consistent navigation menu on all pages.
I would like the site to have a fixed width design. This can be designed up to 960 pixels wide based on viewing at 1024 by 768
If coded, I want the layout done using external CSS and NOT tables!
The text for the site can be taken off the existing site. I will create a gallery of images here
http://www.humphriesandjones.com/gallery
You can choose any of these images to use in your design - whatever you feel will work best with your design. If you need larger versions of any of the images please let me know.
The company has not really got a logo as such but just the title "Humphries & Jones" written in Tahoma font. You are welcome to come up with a logo design and if the client approves it I will pay you an extra $100. But please be sure your design will work with their existing logo just in case they don't like it:)
And the tag line
"Conservation and repair of sculpture, historic buildings, monuments and architectural works of art"
Ideally the logo and tag line will appear on all pages most likely in the header section.
I am open to any design ideas so please feel free to be as creative as you please.
Quote from client
"Faults with the existing site - the grey is too dull and over bearing. A little colour would lift it all. Perhaps a different colour to each page maintaining a format. Traditional soft earth colours."
If you need any further information or larger versions of any of the images please let me know.
I am prepared to accept uncoded designs too. The prize money will be only $250 though.
