2021 marks the 20th Anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

To honor the 343 FDNY firefighters that perished, firefighters across the nation participate in the annual Kansas City 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.

This design is unique in that it encompasses a gold frame. It is distinguishable from the previous years' emblems which were predominantly silver/black/red.

The bold use of blue and red portrays strong American patriotism.

In the centre is a simple ink-style outline of a firefighter looking up depicting strength, heroism and hope.

Stars have been included to portray American patriotism. A total of 20 stars have been included in the design in support of the 20th Anniversary.
