Chris McIntosh got their new app design by running a design contest:
Design a creative, clean and exciting app design for a brand new launch!
Check out Chris McIntosh's App design contest…
gigit is a sophisticated platform that allows consumers to request services and providers to submit proposals for those services. When someone needs a gig done they "gig it" using the mobile application. The application also has a market place that allows users (provider & consumers) to post offerings such as discounted / bundled services or even just something they want to sell. The platform tracks all gigs that are completed building a providers resume. Companies can join the platform as well and associate their employees provider accounts to the company. Along with the sophisticated review process the building of users resumes and portfolios is beyond any other application on the market.
We want the visual style to appeal to the younger generations. High school through university ages is the target audience. very simple and clean user interface that looks slick is what we are after. ***Update Feb 21st 2016 I have also now uploaded a few colour palettes that came from our logo design so that you can use them for reference.
Users will log into the app wither by creating an account or authenticating through Facebook, twitter or linkedIn. Their homepage will show them the lists of jobs they have accepted and are going to do for someone else, the jobs they've posted to have someone else do and history (jobs completed in the past from either category). The idea for navigation currently is a slide out menu from the left and a tab bar along the bottom. Please include these in any designs so that we can see how they look too. The application is meant to be a full platform in which people can create the job by selecting from the hierarchy of offerings. The application doesn't stop there though and it helps people all the way through the transactions. From introduction of the provider and the consumer, to directions to the job, completing pictures and notes, approval, payment and then review for both side of the job. Users can both post jobs to have done or can search the job listings to find jobs to put a proposal in on. We need a user profile page with a creative, clean, design that can be customizable to the user. Elements that we would like to see in the profile are; a background picture, a profile image, a one line slogan or buy line, and then a description as well as a list of buttons to perform additional setup. Samples provided but are meant only to give context, you are free to design it the best way you can. Other pages we would like to see in the design (5), are the main screen where users see the different lists of tasks, profile page, task details page (when the user clicks on the task to drill into it), login page / splash screen and the dashboard for KPI's. A nice looking but simple KPI that doesn't require external graphing engines would be nice. Some additional details that may help as well. Some of this can be seen in the prototype screens but may not be obvious. Each job can have proposals so on the posted list of jobs for a user the actions are a bit different. The user who posted the job will see proposals come in from other users. They can then click on that button to view the different proposals. On the My Task list, which is jobs I am going to do, you will see that there is a Map icon there in place of the proposals. In this case I want to know how to get to the job etc. Main properties of the task would be Price Description Location / Distance. The location is not given to the user until they are selected for the job. So on the task listing page it should only show the distance to the job and not the actual location. Provider & Consumer. In the task details page it would be good to see both the provider and the consumer profile pictures, name and star rating. Thank you in advance to anyone working on this contest! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask ********* Update Feb 22nd Just added a few storyboard screenshots to help show the current flow of the application. Hopefully they add some context *********
