tung9 got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Sequoia Tree meets Cell Tower

Quality Towers, Premium Prices.
We purchase leases for wireless towers. Land owners receive leases from wireless companies (Verizon, AT&T, ...) and we want to buy that rent stream from the land owners for a lump sum price.
Show the strength of a sequoia tree. Liken it to a cell tower. Google images for "Cell Tower monopole" to get an idea what a cell tower look like. Google "Sequoia Tree" and see similarities. Also google "Stealth monopine cell tower" and see how they hide antennas in fake trees. Don't fall easily to doing an "antenna in fake tree" logo, but I just want you to see that the industry does combine trees and towers.

And then… they selected a winner!
Nica's was the first design to come in and spot-on visually captured the tone, look and feel of what I was aiming for - which was not intuitive from a design perspective. She was very responsive to my requests to make changes and tweaks. Would absolutely work with her again, thank you.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
