Entertainment & The Arts
http://homereadyhome.com I'm the creator of the blog, Home Ready Home. The mission of the blog is to help modern families live a more self-reliant life. The topics I write about are sustainability, urban homesteading, gardening, survival/emergency preparedness. The company name was created from "Home Sweet Home" and the current logo was designed from the vision I had of a Home Sweet Home sign with the word sweet crossed off and replaced with the word ready. However, I don't feel that it's professional looking enough. so now I'm open to new ideas. Update/Clarification: I would like the logo to still have an appearance of a sign although it can be more abstract than the realistic one I have. Think of a Home Sweet Home sign. I also tend to gravitate towards a vintage style with a sophisticated modern feel.
Logo types to explore
My current logo is the first picture below. I like the idea of a sign or something abstract to give the impression that it is a sign but the problems I have with this logo are: 1. not professional enough--looks childish 2. I don't like the tilted ready on a horizontal sign. 3. Sign is too realistic. Looks like a photograph. 4. The shape of the logo (the hanging chain) makes it difficult to incorporate on business cards, watermarks and documents. I've also attached Home Sweet Home signs that I like for your inspiration. I'm fine with images and the words in the logo but it must give the impression that it's a sign... a decorative sign not a house for sale sign. All one color logo is fine. Neutral colors are fine...black, shades of grays, shades of browns.
