Entertainment & The Arts
-Artwalk is an annual event that activates the Stamford downtown, encourages engagement with art and artists, creates community, promotes dialogue, and contributes to the notion that Stamford has a growing and increasingly innovative cultural community. -Free and open to the public -Organized by the Stamford Downtown, Artwalk is made possible by the participation of key arts and cultural institutions in the city. There is a broad range of offerings including professionally curated contemporary art exhibitions, visual arts by locally based artists, commercial galleries, jewelry arts, performing arts, and music. Target audience is arts interested people living in Stamford and the surrounding communities of Fairfield and Westchester counties. It is open to families and people of all ages but is not a "family event," therefore the logo should be geared toward an intelligent, adult audience that wants to see art and experience cultural offerings. 45 minutes from New York City, the logo should also be in the aesthetic vein of contemporary art museums like the Whitney Museum of American Art, Sculpture Center and MOMA PS1. Outside of NYC good examples are spaces such as the Museum of Contemporary art and the Walker Art Center. Target Audience: City of Stamford residents Arts interested Fairfield County residents Collectors Artist/curators/gallerists in the region
