3 brothers farming feed corn, soy beans & hay - something they do together for the love, passion and fun of it!
Logo types to explore
3DB Farms Calamus, Iowa Three brothers: Dave, Donnie and Doug Bousselot They formed their partnership under 3DB Farms to reflect the three brothers, all of their initials are DB. They are well known in the community they grew up in, Calamus, Iowa as: “The Boys” or “The Bousselot Boys” They’ve been farming together for over 10 years Their family has been farming for many generations. They farm feed corn, soy beans, sometimes hay. Colors and symbols bring John Deere to mind. I think they would like the traditional green and yellow – it’s immediately identifiable as their preference for make of machinery that is very important to them. I would like this logo to reflect their love and passion for farming together as well as their strong yet playful personalities. Dave is the mechanic, the inventor, creator, and builder – doesn’t want to deal with paperwork and finances, doesn’t want to be hurried into anything that he is building, and needs time to work it out in his head first. Doug is the financier and has a good head for the money end of things, thinks things through, gathers information and processes, always thinking ahead, enthusiastic. Donnie is the quiet, thoughtful one – doesn’t say a whole lot but kind of holds things together; he is the quiet leader and quiets the storms to keep the boat from rocking, likes to keep the sheds and equipment in order. They need each other and the gifts that they bring to the situation. They have been separated from each other so much over the years. They all work jobs that keep them in different states, apart from each other and from the family. They all take time off throughout the year to come back to plant and harvest the crops. Their farming brings them together and they are grateful for the opportunity to work and be together. They are all generous to a fault, always thinking of others, don’t always agree but they will stick up for each other in any kind of situation and are a united force. Their passion for farming is like most guys born and raised on the farm – it’s a part of their makeup. It’s in their blood and if you have not been raised on the farm, it’s not always easy to understand. They love the seasons of farming: preparing the soil, planting the seeds and watching them grow; waiting patiently to see what kind of crop they will have; and then getting out there in the fall and running the combine and seeing the corn and beans get hauled away. It’s a cycle that never grows old. It’s a gamble – you may have a good year and you may have a year when you have worked your self to weariness, have done everything right and then because of the weather or a crop disease, you don’t make a cent and actually lose money. Everything may look great and just when you think you will have a bumper crop, hail or wind or rain takes it all away in minutes. Why would they want to put themselves through something so precarious? Because they love working with the soil and machinery to see what happens; they love being their own boss; they love being outside in the fresh air...it’s just who they are.
