malcolm W got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Design Logo for DevOps-focussed News Site
Check out malcolm W's Logo design contest…
We are a news website targeted at the DevOps community (IT professionals interested in speeding up the process of building and delivering reliable, useful software)
The Shift Left name comes from one of the key ideas in DevOps, that the earlier in the development process you do tasks, the better the result. ie. if testing is good, testing earlier is better. Because the Software Development process is usually represented as a series of stages running from left to right, the idea is to take tasks and shift them to earlier stages, stages on the left. Other key concepts of the DevOps space are: automating manual tasks, doing those automated tasks continuously (ie. continuous testing, etc) delivering software quickly and repeatedly. It's all about speed, predictability, repeatability and quality. We're open to ideas about what is in the logo. We've added some files with common images used in the DevOps space. Use something from them if you like, or surprise us with something else.
