Entertainment & The Arts
I'm an independent author, and Gnomish Press is the company I run that publishes my books and creates related merchandise (e.g. bookmarks). I write speculative fiction humor, mostly satirizing classic fantasy (e.g. Orcs, Elves, Dwarves, etc.)
Other color requirements
I'd like to explore the following colors: Let designers make suggestions:
1. In my fantasy series, the Scribkin are Gnomes that build elaborate techno-magical contraptions. They're pretty close to Dungeons & Dragons' Tinker Gnomes, or Gnomes from World of Warcraft. I named the company because I like the idea of something like them printing books. 2. The logo will be put into traditionally printed books, meaning that needs to at least have a version that is black ink only. It won't be terribly large in print, either, so fine detail will be lost. 3. It would be good if the icon / symbol in the logo was separable from the text Gnomish Press. The classic example is the Nike Swoosh, which can appear next to Nike or on its own. I'm looking for that icon, and then a type treatment to go with it. CLARIFICATION I'm looking for Tinker Gnomes / World of Warcraft-esque Gnomes in my logo (that's the closest there is to Scribkin, a race of Gnomes in my book). Google image search can give you lots of sweet inspiration on these Gnomes. They're a well-established gaming trope. That means: - Zany, steampunk technology with magical themes - Cool pseudo-science gadgets (more on the steampunk side; gears rather than circuits) - Short, stocky mechanics - around 2.5 feet to 3ft tall. - Big noses and awesome mustaches. Beards welcome, but optional. - Goggles / spanners - Scribkin are all of the above, but occasionally wear business suits. Use that as you see fit, provided it doesnt detract too much from all of the above. The icon could be a Gnome, or an awesome piece of Gnomish machinery that prints books (literally a Gnomish press.) There's a lot of freedom there. But I'm not looking for Garden Gnomes, which are more like traditional / European Gnomes. - No pointy hats. No red hats. - No Santa faces - No arms tucked smartly behind the back - No charmingly plump, quaint figures I hope this helps. Thanks for submitting!
