gobi 9 got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Create the eye for a subsea imaging technology company
Check out gobi 9's Logo design contest…
We design and build leading-edge subsea 3D imaging and robotics technology, primarily used for deep ocean exploration.
Logo types to explore
The technology is primarily based on vision, using cameras and other imaging technology to explore the ocean. Perhaps potential imagery could include ocean waves, the shape of a human eye, camera shutter, robot eye, and any potential use of the letter 'S' to represent SULIS. I also really like the 3D effect of the "company" image I've attached, which could still lend well to being stencilled or engraved. The other image is a screenshot of a 3D model of one of our prototype camera housings.
