tedengel got their new logo design by running a design contest:

I am seeking a logo to honor the memory of Buffalo Memorial Auditorium, a hockey arena that stood in Buffalo, New York from 1940 to 2009.
Logo types to explore
Buffalo Memorial Auditorium was an arena in Buffalo, New York where the Buffalo Sabres played ice hockey from 1970 to 1996. When the city demolished it in 2009, it was an extremely sad event. I want to honor Memorial Auditorium with a logo I can embroider on dark blue shirts and hats. I’ll lose money creating them, but I’ve always wanted them for my family and friends. I will respond to every design and every question, and I will guarantee a winner. I also need design services for my work from time to time, so I’m excited to build a long-term partnership. Thank you for your help – you are making my dream come true this holiday season - and good luck! Sample Images: I’ve posted images of everything you need at https://picasaweb.google.com/Ted.Engel/. If you need any other images, please send me a message and I’ll do my best to upload them. My favorite logos are: "Texas All-Star Game" and "Suzanne Yoculan" for how they elegantly display information. "Yankee Stadium" for the stadium’s appearance - it even looks like Memorial Auditorium! "Auburn Arena" "Camp Randall Hockey Classic" for the stadium’s appearance and the light rays I’m also very interested in Stadium logo 21 (MLS Cup) - the arena doesn’t have to dominate the logo. The logo should have: All or part of Memorial Auditorium “Memorial Auditorium” (without quotes) “The Aud” (with quotes) Buffalo Sabres colors from the posted images – I’ll let your design skills tell you how much or how little blue and gold to use. “Buffalo” or “Buffalo, NY” (without quotes) “1940 – 2009” (without quotes) Note: If you want to use "Buffalo Memorial Auditorium", you do not have to add "Buffalo" or "Buffalo, NY" The logo could have: The Buffalo skyline An American Bison silhouette - many Buffalo businesses use a bison like this in their logo. All or part of the Buffalo flag The logo should not have: I’m very open to good ideas, but I believe classic colors and fonts that match the 1940’s architecture would be best. If I’m wrong and you have a better idea, please send it to me!
