Some of the key notes to hit are: An AV revolution is coming Companies are investing enormous amounts of resources into this burgeoning industry because AV transportation will be so dramatically superior to existing methods of transport. Once AVs are available, they will quickly become the predominant transportation force AVs will take 5-10 years or less to reach 90% adoption levels once a viable, safe, and reliable version becomes available AVs will disrupt the existing parking industry Once completely adopted, AVs will cause a 40-60% decrease in parking demand 88-95% decrease in demand for street parking Up to 22% decrease to surface lot and centralized parking demand. City parking will need to start thinking of their parking as something closer to a capacitor (short term storage and quick release) rather than a battery (long term storage and slow release) AVs will want parking that is Close to the passenger. Quick to enter and exit. Low cost. Parking owners will have to respond to this change Parking owners will have the choice to: *Adopt* new parking management technology to enhance the consumer experience *Adapt* their existing infrastructure by changing its purpose *Abandon* owned assets by selling the business or liquidating the land before the market depreciates New sensors and parking technology will enable a new era of data-driven decision making, improved customer experience, and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication.
