Entertainment & The Arts
My books are targeted at middle readers (ages 8-12) Girls are my primary audience as my books have 2 female heroines, although there are boys in the book that they become friends with. There are 6 books in the series (that are completed) so whichever cover I choose, I will be keeping the same artist throughout for continuity.
What's your vision?
I need a cover that will really grab the attention of my 8-12 yr. readership. I don't want photography. I want illustration used. The first book is called "Wilhelmina and the Willamette Wig Factory." It is Book 1 in The Willy and Tommy Adventures. I want use of great color. Wilhelmina is a red-head and she makes friends with a girl down the street, Thomasina (who likes to change her hair style and color all the time--she's naturally a blonde). Willy and Tommy have been targeted by 3 ghosts, who they discover are Willy's ancestors, to help get their old family wig factory re-opened. The girls befriend and old lady in town name, Georgiana Carbunkle (who is Willy's mystery relative) and they need to encourage her to reopen the factory.
There is a subplot of a town carousel that gets renovated. There is a ghost boy that sits on the carousel that only Willy and Tommy can see. I have a vision of the cover having both Willy and Tommy, an abandoned, old Victorian Wig Factory with an ruin of a carousel in the background. This may be WAY to complicated but it gives you an idea of what I'm looking for. The files attached just give you an idea of what I like and the feel I'm after. With a lot more color and a bit less spooky! Thank you!
