Title: Return To Middle C by G. Edmund Schultz Genres: General Fiction, Literary Fiction, Mystery Here is the official blurb for the book. Please pay close attention to it: Across the street lives a mysterious bald man whose only companions are cats. Delora Calatrava, his new and only neighbor in an otherwise unoccupied cul-de-sac, is convinced this man has lost everything that ever mattered to him. She has discerned this just by peering through binoculars from her bedroom window while the man seemingly rocks his life away on his front porch swing, his feline friends keeping him company. What Delora doesn't know is that this man's name is Ben Davenport, once one of the world's most famous rock musicians. Six years ago, following his band's grand finale tour performance in Orlando, Florida, Ben exited the stage to discover his wife had fled the country with another man, taking Ben's five-year-old son Bryan with her. Following an exhaustive and fruitless worldwide four-year search for his son, Ben took up residence in the city where he last saw Bryan, hoping that just maybe his son would somehow be returned to him. After two years have passed, Ben's hopes are fading fast. But across the street lives a woman who doesn't believe in ever giving up on anything. Ben soon discovers that Delora Calatrava is a force of human nature that cannot be easily turned away. But can her friendship and boundless determination fuel his will to take back all he has lost? Return To Middle C is a story about the healing power of love, hope, music, and unwavering faith. Requirements: Absorb the blurb, and let your creative juices flow from it. Please do not use stock images. I seek designers who can illustrate vivid images in Photoshop. Additional Guidance: The lead character lives in a two story white brick mansion that is surrounded by wrought iron black gates. He lives in seclusion. He was a piano virtuoso as a child, thus the "Return To Middle C" metaphor employed in the novel. He hopes his lost son "returns to Middle C," which is in Orlando, Florida. The man lives with seven stray cats. They are his only companions when the novel begins. I will promptly answer any questions.
Photoshop is my required format. This cover will be used for eBooks in Kindle and Nook format, as well as for the paperback edition on CreateSpace. So for CreateSpace I need 300DPI .PSD files (I use Photoshop CC 2014). The book's dimensions on CreateSpace are 6x9 inches, but that doesn't count the bleed zone. To allow for the bleed zone, the front and back cover should actually be dimensioned to 6.125 inches by 9.25 inches. The spine should be 9.25 inches by .55 inches. I also request that the .PSD files be unflattened so I may access layers if necessary. For the back cover of the CreateSpace version, I leave that to your discretion and imagination. I do not want the blurb printed on back, as this novel will most likely only be sold online, so I have included no required text. As for the Kindle, the dimensions are 2500 pixels by 1563 pixels, and 72DPI. I can re-dimension for other formats myself. Thank you very much for considering taking on my project! Again, let your imagination be your guide.
