Two Steps Forward - Embracing life with a brain tumor
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
Create a captivating and memorable book cover for a non-fiction memoir about a young woman diagnosed with a benign brain tumor at the age of thirty-four. This book is based off her personal journal. Book cover blurb: Friday morning, 14 May 2010, Claire Snyman opens her eyes to find the room spinning around her, the light fixture dancing above. Then she develops her first migraine ever. What is this all about? She must be overdoing it at work. But it’s not too much work: it’s a benign brain tumor. The diagnosis completely blindsides 34-year-old Claire and her family. Together they face the new reality of her condition while trying to navigate conflicting medical advice and cope with her onset of symptoms. In Two Steps Forward, Claire documents her personal awakening through the often-harrowing journey of life with a brain tumor and through the brain surgery and the recovery that follows. This inspirational story of a woman, mother and wife is told with honesty, clarity and revelation. Two Steps Forward is a compelling read for those walking a similar path, but also for anyone facing a life-changing situation and looking for a positive and inspiring story. Join Claire as she walks the path that changed her life and perspective forever. Requirements: Although the book content is about her brain tumor and brain surgery, the book is also about gratitude, life’s journey and overcoming the odds that she faced in her journey. Therefore, key image should ideally not be just of the brain but it can be incorporated into a larger theme if you can do it with incorporating two steps/gratitude/ etc. You can look at incorporating images of two steps, footsteps (without being romancy or holiday themed). Beware the beach/sand theme is challenging in this area and tends to look to romance novel. Font style: - Prefer modern and clean rather than script like. Creativity is welcome as long as simple and compelling. • There may be the inclusion of a foundation logo as a percentage of sales may be going towards brain tumor and brain cancer research – awaiting confirmation. • Website logo is attached as an FYI. Depending on final space parameters, it could be included alongside the website link but not a key requirement. • Headshot included. New headshot (more casual) to be done - this can be used as place marker unless this one works well. * Leave space for ISBN and bar code
