Drae Box
I publish my fantasy series for YA readers, and mentor other fiction authors to their success.
A fantasy book cover for the second book in a series. It will need to have a Kindle and epub version, as well as a paperback version that includes the spine and back cover as pdf and image. A minimum of 300dpi is needed.
Title: Threat
Author: Drae Box
Series: The Common Kingdoms (Book 2)
Ideas for the front cover:
IDEA ONE
At one point in the story, the main female character activates a new ability in the Dagger of Protection (the dagger on the front of the first book). When this ability is activated, it drips a blue orb from the tip of its blade before the orb expands into a protective forcefield.
So for this idea, perhaps the gold blade coming down from the centre of the top, with the blue orb dripping off the end, and a red background similar in style to that of the first book's blue background.
In the attachments, you'll find the PSD of the first book's cover, where you can grab the blade for this design and position it where needed. Feel free to play around with the visual appearance of how the blue orb drips out of the blade and how it affects the blade.
IDEA TWO
In the book, a blue dome-shaped forcefield protects the two main characters and a dragon from an explosion of fire. For this idea, the blue forcefield (think magic not sci-fi) is the focus of the cover, with fire rippling against it like a wave of water would.
IDEA THREE
With a similar background to that of the first book (see attachment) but in red, three white feathers falling from the top of the cover, with some lightning twirling around them.
It would be nice if it has, "Book Two" or, "Book Two of The Common Kingdoms Series) on the front, back or on the spine.
Attached is the first book in the series - books in a series usually have a similar style to each cover. If you could try to do this too, that would be appreciated. I'd love for the title to be in the Font provided within the zip too.
