A book cover for a Science Fiction novel. Title: Slingshot Author: Tobias Klausmann ISBN-13: 978-1499744965 ISBN-10: 149974496X Physical dimensions: 5.5"x8.5" or 13.97cmx21.59cm, spine width: 1.04" or 2.65cm This will be published through CreateSpace (and as an ebook). Information on physical requirements is here (also has a link to templates: https://www.createspace.com/Products/Book/CoverPDF.jsp This blurb should go on the back of the book: ---snip--- Kim expected significant trouble after stealing a prototype spaceship with a one-of-a-kind unfettered AI, but not this much. She finds herself on the run from radical AI liberation types, the military, and even intelligence agencies. As Kim realizes that she may not be the sole target, she scrambles to form new alliances and revive existing ones. Few people are keen on helping her, since one of the groups pursuing her is willing to kill thousands of bystanders just to get to her. ---snip--- (if you find a typo, poke me about it) As far content on the cover: I have no specific cover in mind. If you want to go all abstract, that's fine. I have enclosed examples of art styles/techniques I like, but I'm open to other styles. The novel is set ~150 years in the future, there is space travel, FTL ships and colonies on other planets. I'd prefer no spaceships on the cover --- I deliberately avoid describing them. People are okay, but don't make them into eye candy; here's a description of the two main characters: The main protagonist (Kim) is a woman in her 30s; she is of Japanese descent, has very short black hair and brown eyes. Her face is relatively narrow and a bit "bony". Her stature is slightly taller than average and similarly narrow; sinewy and taut. The second main character is Allie, an AI. As such, there's not really a body, but she has a holo projection. There, she looks like a woman somwehere between late 30s and early 40s; The hologram doesn't really have much in the way of obvious character (i.e. it's not an attempt to display a human). The projection is monochrome but has not been set, feel free to choose one. The book is part of a series of three, thus a design that can be "extended" to the sequels is a big plus. The cover should work for both physical books and as a scaled cover for the ebook version.
The b/w example would have been a perfect cover, but alas, it has been used for something else that really doesn't have anything to do with the book. Note that I have no rights to these pictures, so they a re examples only, not stock to work from. Since people seem to miss this constantly: NEITHER OF THESE IMAGES CAN BE USED!
