alex8q got their new banner ad by running a design contest:
Feature the new RCA Digital Two-Way Radios
Check out alex8q's Banner ad contest…
We sell professional two-way radios. Our target market is any company that is large enough to have a maintenance, security, engineering or warehouse department.
What's your vision?
We need a banner that will be placed in our navigation megamenu. See amazon.com as an example. When you hover over their departments menu, you see pictures highlighting featured products in the category that you are selecting. The banner that we need will be in the "Handhelds" menu. The three columns of radios will be converted to two columns, leaving the right column for your banner to be placed in. The banner will feature our three new radios and will direct people to this page: http://www.discounttwo-wayradio.com/rdr2000-series The dimensions should be 350px wide by 450px to 550px tall. I have attached some image assets that could be used. I would like three versions, the only difference being the first line of text. All other elements should be the same. We will use these to test which is most effective in getting people to click through.
The following elements should be in the banner. Line 1a: Top industry pick Line 1b: Most recommended Line 1c: Best in class Line 1 notes: should include a checkmark, seal or icon of some sort - whatever looks best Line 2: DMR (logo attached) Digital Radios Line 3: RDR2000 Series (optional) Line 4: Picture of radios. Possibly with background image of warehouse or industrial environment. Line 5: Model # of each radio (optional) Note: Line 3&5 - probably best if you put model name in one or the other, not both. But I leave it up to your discretion. Line 6,7,8 (horizontal or vertical): Highlight the three main qualities - Durability (3 year warranty), Price (best price available anywhere for DMR digital radio), Compatibility (will work with their existing radios). Please see the landing page for details. You can use verbiage, icons, whatever you think is best to get those three points across. Design notes: please use whatever colors, fonts and stylings you think will look best placed in the menu. It should get your attention but not look completely out of place with the rest of the site. Unfortunately we are not able to use a transparent image and make it look like it is extending out of the menu.
